Embark on a journey to the secluded regions of Mount Olympus with our tour. The first day will be spent learning about the history of Thessaloniki and discovering why the city does not have a recognizable architectural style but is instead more chaotic. Our tour will be conducted on bicycles, and we will make our way through the areas that are absolute musts. We will spend the evening experiencing the vibrant nightlife that Thessaloniki has to offer.
We will take the train to the traditional village of Litochoro, the primary entry for people seeking to ascend Mount Olympus. From Litochoro, the visitor may admire the highest point of Greece and the magnificent throne of Zeus. Free time at Litochoro and a briefing for the challenge late in the afternoon!
Our ascent followed the E4 trail for the first meters and after following a forgotten train leading to the first bivouac refuge of Livadaki. From here you have a clear view of the summits and a panoramic view of the Aegean sea! We continue heading to the west face of Mt Olympus, passing another two bivouac refuges, and end up at Christaki’s bivouac refuge where our heavy camp equipment will be there to organize our camp for tonight.

Our destination for today is Petra village. All heavy equipment will be transferred to Petra village. We will hikecorridor as light as we can and we will pass through an outstanding corridor with a panoramic view to the most impressive face of Mt Olympus.

We will take our time to rest and enjoy our breakfast in this beautiful small village. We will organize once again our backpacks and head to Krevatia village through an unknown trail!

Olympus Riviera will draw our attention as we ascend to the Muses Plateau. We’ll be hiking on a ridge with loose stones at the end and no vegetation above 1800 meters. When we arrive at Muses Plateau, we will undoubtedly take a break and drink some beer!

Today, we’ll get up before the sun rises and hike 20 minutes to the Temple of Prophet Elias, where we’ll watch the sunrise from the highest temple in the Balkans. Following that, we will gather our equipment and start our way down to Petrostrouga after a long stop there we head to Koromilia refuge a tranquil place with a great view of the Aegean.

After long and hard trekking, we manage to complete half of the hardest trek on Mt Olympus and collect stamps for our personal Mt Olympus Refuge passport, complete half of the challenge. We return to Thessaloniki, full of good memories and strong emotions, by train or a shared vehicle and then to the airport.
