Explore the remotest area of Olympus on your tour. As we make our way across this terrain, we will go by the emergency mountain refuge and ends up to the Muses Plateau, where we enjoy the astonished scenery of throne of Zeus and breathtaking sunrise

As we climb the mythical mountain trails, we will visit special points of interest, learn about local stories, legends, and mythology, and you will be in the best places to photograph Olympus' unique landscapes. It is without a doubt one of the most daring trekking in Greece!

One thing is certain after the activity: the experience will be more powerful than the pictures! Despite the fact that the experience will generate unprecedented emotions

Itineraries

Day 1

Visit Thessaloniki

Today, we will get the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of Thessaloniki, find out what the schedule looks like for the next few days, and finish packing our bags in preparation for our challenge.

Day 2

Litochoro

We will take the train to the traditional village of Litochoro, the primary entry for people seeking to ascend Mount Olympus. From Litochoro, the visitor may admire the highest point of Greece and the magnificent throne of Zeus. Free time at Litochoro and a briefing for the challenge late in afternoon!

Day 3

Livadaki-Ag.Antonis-Christaki

Our ascent following the E4 trail for the first meters and after following a forgotten train leading to the first bivouac refuge of Livadaki. From here you have clear view to the summits and panoramic view to the Aegean sea! We continue heading to the west face of Mt Olympus, passing another two bivouac refuge and ends up at Christaki’s bivouar refuge where the our heavy camp equipment will be there to organize our camp for tonight.

Day 4

Christaki-Salatoura-Petra

Our destination for today is Petra village. All heavy equipment will be transferred to Petra village. We will hike as light as we can and we will pass through an outstanding corridor with a panoramic view to the most impressive face of Mt Olympus.

Day 5

Petra-Krevatia

We will take our time to rest and enjoy our breakfast in this beautiful small village. We will organize once again our backpacks and head to Krevatia village through an unknown trail!
Distance: 8,5km
Gain altitude: 560m

Day 6

Krevatia - Mouses Plateau

Olympus Riviera will draw our attention as we ascend to Muses Plateau. We'll be hiking on a ridge with loose stones at the end and no vegetation above 1800 meters. When we arrive at Muses Plateau, we will undoubtedly take a break and drink some beer!

Day 7

Mouses Plateau - Petrostrouga - Koromilia

Today, we'll get up before the sun rises and hike 20 minutes to the Temple of Prophet Elias, where we'll watch the sun rise from the highest temple in the Balkans. Following that, we will gather our equipment and start our way down to Petrostrouga and after a long stop there we head to Koromilia refuge a tranquil place with a great view to the Aegean

Day 8

Back to Thessaloniki

After a long and hard trekking, we manage to complete half of the hardest trek on Mt Olympus, and collect stamps to our personal Mt Olympus Refuge passport, complete half of the challenge. We return to Thessaloniki, full of good memories and strong emotions, by train or a shared vehicle and then to the airport.
